Freddy
XL
Talented,
captivating and versatile, Freddy XL is a hip hop artist who may well be on his
way to claiming his place in the Hip Hop game.
Khumoetsile
Alfred Moleele (aka Freddy XL) was born in Hammanskraal and moved to Pretoria
at the age of 7. Freddy started listening to hip hop as a young boy but it
wasn’t until he was in high school that he really developed his love for the
art.
Freddy
started out his career at the age of 18 back home in Hammanskraal. He recorded
his first few singles with fellow schoolmate Kid Hype, the duo was called Paper
boys, it didn’t last very long. Freddy went on to record tracks with a couple
more friends. It wasn’t until a few songs later that Freddy joined his current
stable QCI entertainment where he’s recorded a bunch of songs with fellow
artists Young B, Luv King, Ghost, Global and OT. Freddy XL and Young B started
recording their 1st project together released a couple of singles and
had their 1st radio single called “Hands in the air” featuring and
produced by LuvKing which has gotten a good response from the people in their
home town.
Freddy
and Young B went on to drop several more songs (including Legendary, Blowin
loud…) as singles and didn’t drop the project. Freddy then released his first
single titled ‘I Miss You Bad’ which was produced by Lyph and was well received
by listeners.
In
2013 on the 17th of September (which was on his birthday) Freddy XL
dropped his single Precious Gold featuring Global and Luv King produced by Kae
em of VAM. The song got a great response from on social networks and got
nominated in 3 categories in the Pretoria music awards for Best New Comer, Best
Colabo and Best Produced track, along with another song he was featured on
titled Only getting started (OGS) by StadiQ Beats which was also in the run up
for Best collabo.
Up
until recently FreddyXL has been doing a bunch of collaborations as well as
working on his own project, he, along with his QCI Ent colleagues have been out
and about hosting hip hop shows in their neibourhood in Hammanskraal showcasing
their talents as well as giving other up and coming artists a platform to do
the same.
Not much of an outdoor person, if he’s not out performing,
Freddy finds comfort in and enjoys staying in studio doing what he loves,
making music and trying to learn as much as he can about the art.
